Loan Calculator Kuwait

Work out the monthly installment for a personal, car or home loan, the total interest, and the real yearly rate (APR) behind a flat rate.

What are you financing?

Many personal and car loans in the Gulf are quoted as a flat rate: interest on the full amount for the whole term. Ask your bank which one it is.

Your monthly installment

KWD 208.330 a month

on a loan of KWD 10,000.000

Total interest / profitKWD 2,500.000
Total you repayKWD 12,500.000

โš ๏ธ This flat rate really costs about 9.2% a year on a reducing balance (the APR).

๐Ÿ’ก Before you sign

  • Compare the APR and the total you repay, not just the monthly installment.
  • Check fees: processing, insurance and early settlement charges.
  • Islamic financing (Murabaha, Ijara) shows a profit rate; the monthly amount works the same way.
  • Keep your installments at a level you can pay even if your income drops.

Questions people ask

What's the difference between a flat rate and a reducing balance?+

With a flat rate, interest is charged on the full amount for the whole term, so the real cost is close to double the quoted rate. With a reducing balance, interest is charged only on what you still owe.

How is the monthly installment worked out?+

With the standard installment formula: each payment covers that month's interest plus part of the loan, so it's fully repaid by the end of the term.
